Paramahamsa Prajnanananda was born as Triloki Dash in 1959 in the village of Pattamundai in Orissa, India. He has always been a sincere seeker of truth.  In 1980, while still a student, he met his Gurudev, Paramahamsa Hariharananda, who initiated him into the path of Kriya Yoga. On August 10, 1998, on his 39th birthday, the title of Paramahamsa, the highest title reserved for monks, was conferred upon him by his loving and divine Master Paramahamsa Hariharananda. Paramahamsa Prajnanananda has ceaselessly traveled around the world to promote the message of Kriya Yoga to all who seek liberation. He has written and translated numerous books on spiritual topics.

Paramahamsa Prajnanananda teaches only one lesson: the lesson of love. Through not only the study of the scriptures, and the practice of meditation, but through every action and every breath, he urges us to realize that we are all divine and to achieve that blissful state of divine love and contentment, through basic self-discipline and the practice of simple yogic principles. His loving guidance and deep compassion have won him the devotion and faith of countless disciples around the world whose lives he has transformed.

He Called Me Back

“When Gurudev left for Europe, I did not want to stay in the Ashram without him, so I silently left for the Himalayas. During this stay in 1983, I spent time meditating and met many monks, who helped and later on encouraged me to live there permanently like a brahmachari or a monk. But the thought of Gurudev kept coming back to me strongly. One night, I saw Baba in a dream and he said, “Come back. Why do you stay here? Once you have accepted me as your spiritual guide, do you think that if you stay in the Himalayas or the banks of the Ganga you will get realization? You need the Guru’s help. I will help you. Come back.” This was a message for me, so I came back.”
